Tea, Coffee and Company

Cheesecakes and Melange
Under certain circumstances there are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea. -Henry James
Aren’t you thankful that afternoon teas can be conveniently done outside of the home now? Meet up with a friend at Marriott hotel, Starbucks or your favorite coffee corner shop, order a slice of cheesecake, a cup of cappuccino or green tea and bond over some stories -perfect.
Coffee and tea breaks may be short but I think that they can give so much into a friendship. Even when done alone, which I admittedly do with much gusto, it can give one me-time, be able to think about things or even be in the company of a good book.
When with a friend, it may take me to sit down as long as she or he is able. We could go rant on for as long as it takes and fork a piece of cake, laugh over silly things and sip what’s in our cup. But, when I’m alone, it seems like I am seated with an imaginary friend and we talk about writing a book and that conversation would take more hours. I know, reading this – you’d think I might be downright crazy but it’s ok. I really like being alone to myself.
What about you? Do you have a constant afternoon tea dates with friends? What do you like having then?
I don’t take tea with friends, but instead use the process and time for making tea one of meditation of sorts. I really am mindful of the water as it comes to a boil, take in the steam as the leaves steep and really focus on flavor of the tea for the whole mug. So relaxing!
I love hot tea! And I feel like I’m the only one… I recently was in charge of throwing a bridal shower and I thought it would be great to do a “tea party” theme- no The others thought it was too “old” sounding. Boo.
I love drinking coffee in the morning and I miss having it with a friend in the afternoon.
I also love having tea and cakes with my friends, we usually talk about life and happenings, and we love earl grey tea and cakes/ crepes/ tarts. sometime, quiche too
I don’t have afternoon tea or even coffee. My favorite time for coffee is relaxing in the morning when I first get up.
I don’t have afternoon tea or coffee time. But while at work a group of my co-workers and I usually go for a coffee break. It’s our time to unwind for 20 minutes and exchange stories about our daily lives. If I move back home, I definitely would have more afternoon tea or coffee time with my friends and family!=)
I usually go later in the evenings unless it is a project meetup, there is a place near me that has great cheesecake, but the other place has wifi and couches.
I don’t drink tea outside but I like drinking cold tea and cold coffee. Next time im going to drink more hot tea.
My afternoons are spent with groups of kids in the schools. I like working with them a bunch, but a break with tea, a friend and a snack sounds lovely too.
My afternoons are when I unwind because of being a morning person. Up early get as much done as possible and needs for the day, Then a cup of coffee and relax usually by myself.
I drink coffee in nmornings, not a lot of time now as helping with grandbabies to sit and enjoy! lol
I love coffee. Not much of a tea drinker. I do love having conversations over a cup of good brewed coffee.
